I received the error message “could not establish connection to database”?

Synopsis

When opening a report, you receive an error message "could not establish connection to database"

Solution

This is a known issue in .rpt Inspector 1 pre-release and in .rpt Inspector release -- as there was no ability to pass a specific ID and Password in ODBC to the database.

.rpt Inspector 2 Professional Suite now allows a user ID and password to be passed to all supported database drivers.
