Thank you for your interest in our support of Crystal Reports 2008.
Today there are currently 5 editions of .rpt Inspector 3 Professional Suite (click here for an explanation of what editions are). Each is compiled around a specific version of the Crystal Reports API and runtime files and therefore requires a specific version of Crystal Reports to be installed on your system prior to installing .rpt Inspector. This basically means that there needs to be a 1:1 match of the Crystal Reports version to the .rpt Inspector 3 Professional Suite edition (click here for the specification and requirements of each edition).
You can work with Crystal Reports 2008 files today!
While there is no "native" edition or version of .rpt Inspector Professional Suite available currently (it is in development, unfortunately running behind schedule) -- you CAN work with reports created with Crystal Reports 2008 today with either .rpt Inspector 3 Professional Suite (for CR XI) edition or .rpt Inspector 3 Professional Suite (for CR XIr2) edition. To do so will require that you match the correct version of Crystal Reports to either of those editions (click here for the specification and requirements of each edition).
A version that is natively compiled around Crystal Reports 2008 -- and therefore will only require that you have Crystal Reports 2008 installed, is currently in development. However, due to the major development changes in the Crystal Reports 2008 API and runtime files, .rpt Inspector Professional Suite had undergone major rewrites and unfortunately is running behind schedule.
We know you're anxious to learn when .rpt Inspector Professional Suite will natively support Crystal Reports 2008. Please use this signup form so that we can notify you of its release (currently expected end of `Q2 2014).
