Does .rpt Inspector support DAO drivers?

My connectivity uses DAO. Does .rpt Inspector™ support DAO connectivity?

Solution

Now supported, starting with .rpt Inspector 3 Professional Suite (all editions) versions 3.02 and higher and .rpt Inspector 3.1 Enterprise Suite (all editions) versions 3.12 and higher.

However, unlike Crystal Reports®, .rpt Inspector™ does not require connectivity for the majority of actions that you'll perform. You can make changes to the various properties without connectivity because you are are modifying the report template's existing objects and their properties.

There are two exceptions:

  • If you'd like to see a preview, that requires combining the template with data and that is when .rpt Inspector does need to make a connection to your database.
  • When working with the data source / database wizard, a connection to your destination database must be made for the process to work.
